PURPOSE:To set the temperature of a conductive liquid at a low level and to elongate the life of a gyro-sphere, by exposing a part of the gyro sphere on the liquid surface, without immersing the entire gyro-sphere in the electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:In a gyrocompass, the following parts are provided: an outer sphere, wherein a specified amount of a conductive liquid 9 is contained in the inside; an inner sphere 6, which is floated in the liquid 9 and has a dimension in such a way that the upper part of the inner sphere is exposed in the air during the operation; and a pump device 3, which supports the floating inner sphere 6. An inner sphere upper electrode 7 is provided at the specified position of the inner sphere 6 under the surface of the liquid. An upper electrode 4 of the outer sphere is provided at the specified position of the outer sphere 6 under the surface of the liquid. |
