The invention relates to a videophone. The object of the invention is to indicate a compact subscriber terminal which enables telephony with additional functions and also data communication at videotex level. The object is achieved in that the videophone has a telephone device (F) with additional functions and a device for text and memory functions which is fitted with an alpha keyboard (A) and which can be connected to central videotex installations, and a display device (BS) designed as a VDU, where all the devices are interconnected via a data, address and control bus (B). <IMAGE>
