The paper shredding machine is fitted with a conventional shredder (17) mounted on a cabinet (1) with the collecting bag tidied away inside for a neat appearance and to avoid dust generation during operation. The shredder (17) has a hood (17a) at the discharge end shaped to divert shreds into the open end of the bag (6) inside the cabinet. The front surface of the cabinet is closed by a flap (13) with a bottom hinge (4) and frame (7) inclined towards the opposite wall of the cabinet. The frame is used for clamping on the open end of the bag (9) and the far end of the frame has a notch or stop (8a) which engages with the catch (15) when the flap (3) is folded down. The frame is connected by two flanks (11) to the flap and springs (12) return the flap into the closed position.
