COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, PATH SELECTION DEVICE, AND PATH SELECTION METHOD

A communication system in which a plurality of communication networks are connected to each other, and in which there exists a mixture of communication network interconnections, including a communication network interconnection by means of a first line with which communication is performed using a first protocol, and a communication network interconnection by means of a second line with which communication is performed using a second protocol. This communication system is equipped with: a path selection device provided in a communication network that connects to other communication networks by means of the first line, and connects to other communication networks by means of the second line; and an address resolution device capable of communicating with the path selection device. The path selection device queries the address resolution device for an address corresponding to the incoming number in a connection request signal transmitted from a user device in the communication network, and on the basis of the response received from the address resolution device, the path selection device determines whether to transmit the connection request signal to the call destination communication network via the first line, or to transmit the connection request signal to the call destination communication network via the second line.
