Assembly for connecting electric cables

The arrangement has a metallic pipe piece (8) for receiving ends of electrical cables (13, 14). A clamping screw (15) serving for fixing one of the cables is designed as a contact screw (1) i.e. shearing screw. The contact screw includes an attachment piece (5) at a front surface, which is determined for contacting at the cables. A cross-section of the attachment piece is small in comparison to a cross-section of a rotational body of the screw. The attachment piece lies at conductors (17, 19) in the mounting position under penetration of insulation units (16, 18) of the cables.
