A vehicle having an emergency power device comprises an electric motor 20 with a motor input shaft 21, an battery assembly 30 electrically connected to the electric motor 20, a gear speed change mechanism 40 connected to the motor input shaft 21, a continuously variable transmission (CVT) 50 connected between the gear speed change mechanism 40 and the engine 60 to reduce a rotating speed of the engine power input shaft 61. The power take-off shaft 70 is connected to the gear speed change mechanism 40 to output power transmitted from the gear speed change mechanism 40. In normal conditions, the electric vehicle is fully driven by the electric motor 20, and the engine 60 starts working only when the electric motor 20 fails. Hence, the high energy consumption problem of the conventional hybrid electric vehicle can be solved. Furthermore, the engine 60 serves as an emergency power supplier for supplying power when an emergency occurs, improving safety and stability of the vehicle. The vehicle normally operates as a pure electric vehicle. |
