RECHARGING OR CONNECTION TRAY FOR PORTABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICES

The present invention relates to a tray 10 comprising: a) a base panel 11 having two opposite edges 14 adapted for sliding within grooves 37of a structure 36; b) a pair of electrical contacts 15 located on the two opposite edges 14 of the base 11 adapted to conduct electricity, c) a battery recharging system 62 adapted to provide one or more electromagnetic fields capable of transferring an electrical charge to a properly equipped electrical device 18 having a rechargeable battery or a connection for a portable electronic device 18 adapted to connect the portable electronic device 18 to the power system of a host 70 and/or other electronic systems of the host 70; d) means for connecting the pair of electrical contacts 26 to the battery recharging system 62 or to the connection to the portable electronic device 18; e) one or more display panels 12 providing a surface for resting one or more rechargeable portable electric devices 18 upon, such panels 12 adapted to allow one or more users of portable electronic device 18 to view one or more displays of the portable electronic devices 18; f) panels 13 for connecting the base panel 11 and one or more display panels 12 and for enclosing the tray 10. The tray 10 is adapted for use in a host system 70 which supplies power to the tray 10. In a preferred embodiment, the host system 70 is, or is utilized in a, vehicle.
