<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor, capable of surely preventing falling of a passenger by rapidly removing snow or moisture when snow adheres to a platform or the moisture of the snow spreads over it, and keeping the upper surface of the platform in a less slippery dry state. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The passenger conveyor includes: a step line 2 for carrying passengers which travels endlessly; a platform 5 for a passenger to get on an get from the step line 2; a passenger stepping footboard 7 provided on the platform 5; a temperature sensor 17 which detects the outside air temperature around the platform 5; a surface heater 12 provided on the platform plate 7; and a blowing fan capable of blowing air to above the boarding plate 7. When the temperature sensor 17 detects a temperature equal to or lower than a predetermined set temperature, the surface heater 12 and the blowing fan are driven based on the detection signal, whereby the platform plate 7 is heated by the surface heater 12, and air is blown onto the platform plate 7 through an outlet port 20.
