<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmitter which allows the aligning process therefor to be simplified, thereby allowing the processing time therefor to be reduced and in which excessive loss generated, when mounted can be compensated, and to provided its optical path adjustment method. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical transmitter, an optical path adjustment device 7 is provided which adjusts the optical path of a laser beam emitted from an LD chip 5, and the LD chip 5, a lens 4, the optical path adjusting device 7 and an optical fiber 1 are arranged, in such a way that their optical centers roughly are in line; and after they are fixed in a package 3, the optical path of the laser beam is adjusted by the optical path adjusting device 7 so that the optical coupling of the laser beam to the optical fiber 1 is maximized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
