The pump (1) has a pressure chamber (4) arranged in a cylinder unit (3). An inlet valve (5), an outlet valve (6) and a filter unit (7) are provided for filtering supplied fluid. The filter unit is arranged at an intake-sided end of the cylinder unit and has a filter area (7b) and a frame (7a). The frame is made of a heat-deformable material and is fixed at the cylinder unit in a play-free manner by the heat deformation. The cylinder unit has recess to accommodate a heat-deformed area (7c) of the frame. An independent claim is also included for a method for mounting a filter unit at a cylinder unit of a piston pump.
