PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit control suitable for photographing each of a still picture and a moving picture, and excellent audio recording. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus capable of selecting a first photographing mode wherein a still picture is electronically photographed or a second photographing mode wherein a moving picture is electronically photographed includes actuators 202, 208, 250 for activating a member to be driven and control means 211, 212, 205 for controlling driving of the actuators, and the control means select an operating mode of the actuator suitable for the selected photographing mode in response to the first photographing mode or the second photographing mode.
