The invention relates to a chessman assembly comprising several chessmen (2, 3, 4, 5 and 6) having the known functions: King, Bishop, Knight, Rook, Queen made up of tubular profiles of various cross-sections: cylinder-, hexangle-, square- or triangle-shaped , said profiles forming by grooving and tonguing and butt joint a first rod wherein a second rod is axially introduced, said second rod comprising some chessmen (7) having the Pawn function, which are assembled using a butt joint, said two rods having mounted therebetween a tubular stiffening rod (8) with cylinder-, hexangle-, square- or triangle-shaped cross-section, which is provided on its outer surface with a lagging (9) having attached at each end a threaded ring (10) wherein a threaded cap (11) is mounted for sustaining both the first rod comprising the chessmen (2, 3, 4, 5 and 6) and the second rod comprising the chessmen (7), a play-board (1) of 8x8=64 usual bicoloured chess squares being wrapped around said concentrically mounted tubular rods, said play-board being made up of a soft rollable transport-tolerant material. The King chessmen of different colours are joined to each other, as a pair, the Bishop chessmen and the Knight chessmen of the same colour are joined together as pairs, while the Rook and Queen chessmen of the same colour are joined together, said chessmen group being subsequently joined to another group comprising the Queen and Rook chessmen of the other colour which are, in their turn, joined to each other, the first rod being formed by the butt joining of said pairs and groups of chessmen.
