A workpiece support (10) has members arranged in a Z configuration. At least two outer members (101, 120) are coupled to an inner member (130), so that the outer members can swing away from the inner member in opposite directions, but can still fold substantially flat against the inner member. The outer members are coupled to the inner member via hinges (150), connectors, an extension arm, or other suitable mechanism. The members can be panels, connected at their edges by vertically arranged hinges. The dimension lumber, door, or other workpiece (500) being supported by the support is laid horizontally on top of the panels, and is therefore readily removable and re-positionable on the support. Alternatively, the members can be posts, connected by horizontal or other spacer frame elements. A fourth member or more can be added to form an "M" (or "W") configuration.
