IMPROVED METHOD FOR DISPLAYING TEMPORAL CHANGE IN SPATIALLY MATCHED IMAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance accuracy of an X-ray image in displaying a temporal change in an object under study.

SOLUTION: A temporal image processing system (10) includes a time processing controller (14) which receives two or more temporally spaced apart images from a scan unit (16). The time processing controller (14) includes an alignment module (46) which aligns regions of interest within each of the two images, to generate an alignment signal. The time processing controller (14) further includes a reliability determining module (48) which receives the alignment signal for the formation of a reliability map. The reliability map highlights a contrast with a temporal change in the object under study relative to a contrast in misalignment.
