PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel compound which excels in printing performance, has a suitable color tone and reduced paper dependence, excels in water resistance, excels in image shelf stability such as light resistance, dark heat shelf stability, and ozone resistance, and can exhibit a high density black color, a novel pigment comprising the compound, an ink and an inkjet ink comprising the dye, and an inkjet recording method using the inkjet ink. SOLUTION: The novel compound is represented by formula (1) (wherein A and B are each independently a monovalent heterocyclic group to be bonded to the carbon atom of an azo group; m and n are each independently 0 or 1; M is a hydrogen atom or a monovalent cation); the dye contains the compound; the ink and the inkjet ink contain the dye; and the inkjet recording method effects recording with the use of the inkjet ink. |
