PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for efficiently removing oxide scale from a induction hardened shaft part. SOLUTION: A cooling means 6 is arranged at the outlet side of a heating coil 4, and the shaft part to be treated is continuously fed with feed rolls 1, 2 while being rotated with rotating rolls 3, 5, 7, 8 and heated and cooled to undergo a hardening heat treatment. A high pressure liquid washing means 10 is arranged at the outlet side of the cooling means 6 and the oxide scale is removed successively to the hardening heat treatment.
