PURPOSE: To obtain a protein for inhibiting the activation of caspase-12 and to provide its use. CONSTITUTION: This protein comprises a recombinant protein of the following (a) or (b). (a) A protein comprising a specific amino acid sequence. (b) A protein which comprises an amino acid sequence obtained by deleting, substituting or adding one or several numbers of amino acids to the above specific amino acid sequence and inhibits the activation of caspase-12.
