PURPOSE: A switching device is provided to allow for a mode selection by the user operating the changeover device on the machine. CONSTITUTION: In a device for turning on/off or switching an individual electric system function by selecting an operation mode by a user by operating a switching operation device arranged in a multifunctional hand held tool machine, the device comprises bi-stable switches(4,5) composed of two elements freely movable in a relative position, an independent electric system function of the tool machine operates in one switching position of the switching operation device, and is switched so that the function becomes invalid in the other switching operation position.
