The invention relates to a method of establishing a connection (V) along a route (R) in a connection- and packet-oriented communications network (KN). To establish said connections attempts are made to allocate a transmission channel (U) between all adjacent network nodes (K(i), K(i+1)) along the route (R). According to the invention, if a first allocation attempt is rejected at least one further attempt is made on at least one pair of adjacent network nodes (K(i), K(i+1)) to allocate a transmission channel (U) along the route(R) between said network nodes. This minimizes the number of attempts at establishing a connection along alternative routes. |
