PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare the subject adhesive tape which is excellent in sun light- shielding properties and strength and can be readily cut off with finger tips by forming grooves of a specific shape on the face of a specific vinyl chloride resin film. SOLUTION: On one or both faces of a vinyl chloride resin film (X) containing 20-50 pts.wt. of a polyester plasticizer with a number-average molecular weight of 1,200-3,000, 5-50 pts.wt. of a sun light-shielding pigment, for example, titanium oxide, and 5-40 pts.wt. of inorganic fine particles such as calcium carbonate with an average particle size of 0.5-10μm per 100 pts.wt. of the vinyl chloride resin, a plurality of straight grooves of a V-shaped or U-shaped cross- section are formed in parallel with the widthwise direction of the resin film (X). Adhesive layer(s) are formed on one or both faces of the film (X) and the shape of the grooves is allowed to satisfy the relations given by formulae I-IV [A and B are angles formed by the oppositely inclining faces of the V-shaped groove with the face of the (X) or angles formed by the opposite tangential lines drawn at the half-depth of the U-shaped groove with the face of the (X)], and the depth of the grooves is set to 1/10-2/5 of the thickness of the film (X) and the grooves has a pitch of 50-250μm.
