The apparatus has a variable volume enclosure, with a moving partition which displaces the respiratory gas to the patient. The gas passes through a valve block (16) during inspiration and is interrupted during expiration. The variable volume enclosure provides a predetermined initial pressure before inspiration by the patient. An inspiration valve may open during inspiration and close during expiration. This valve may be controlled pneumatically by an auxiliary pressure source. It may be a balloon valve, integrated in the valve block. The block air entry (30) may have a non return valve. An oxygen detector may check the gas content in the enclosure, which is adjusted by a valve regulating oxygen input. A valve (88) may block expired gas in a transfer circuit (80). |
