PURPOSE:To prevent the erroneous detection of ink use quantity due to the replacement or the mounting and detachment of an ink cartridge at the OFF- time of a power source, by providing a switch means for resetting the counting of the ink residual quantity of the ink cartridge. CONSTITUTION:A reset switch 6 for resetting the counting of the ink residual quantity of an ink cartridge 10 is provided. Because of this, even when the ink cartridge 10 is replaced during the OFF-time of the power source of a printer, ink residual quantity information is initialized by pushing down the reset switch 6 and ink residual quantity can be accurately judged. Further, even when the ink cartridge 10 is detached merely and mounted as it is, the ink residual information is not initialized unless the reset switch 6 is pushed down and, therefore, the ink residual quantity of the ink cartridge can be accurately detected. |
