PURPOSE:To decrease the fluctuations in developability and to enable rapid development processing to be executed by detecting the sp. gr. of a developer and executing development processing while maintaining the sp. gr. of the developer by replenishing the developer with a concd. developer or water in accordance with the result of the detection. CONSTITUTION:A developing section has a developing tank A storing the developer, a pump 12 for circulating the developer to developer nozzles 4 and rotary brushes 5 radially implanted with brush blank materials rubbing the plate surface. The developer is sent from the developing tank A through a filter 14 to a sub-tank E and the front end position of a hydrometer of a floating balance type in the sub-tank E is detected by a photoelectric conversion element 16, by which the sp. gr. is computed. The activity of the developer is computed from the relation between the resulted sp. gr. and the developer compsn. and a signal is so sent that the concd. developer or water of the volume necessary for maintaining the specified developer is supplied. The necessary volume of the concd. developer or water is sent from a concd. developer supply tank F or water supply tank G by a pump 17. |
