The identity of credit card, in the form of a Eurocheque card, has a number of laminate sheets froming a card body in which a carrier foil for an IC component is embedded. Coupling elelents on the other side of the foil form contacts on the card surface. A conductor network on the foil connects the IC and contacts. Thin spiral paths (6) on the foil form induction coil coupling elements connected to the conductor network (7). The conductor network, induction coilds and contact surfaces are mounted on one side of the foil without crossings. ADVANTAGE - Mfg. costs approach those of conventional cards.
