PURPOSE:To obtain the titled high-luminance cathode ray tube with especially good color tone, by mixing a specific green luminescent fluophor and a second green luminescent one to form a specific fluorescent surface. CONSTITUTION:Using a mixture of (A) a green luminescent fluophor IrBO3:Tb and (B) a second green luminescent one, a fluorescent surface is formed so that the time for reduction of the afterglow value to one-tenth the original value measured by the luster spot test is <=10ms, thus obtaining the objective cathode ray tube. Preferably, 60-80wt.% of a third green luminescent fluophor i.e. Y3(AlGa)5O12:Tb is also incorporated in said mixture.
