PURPOSE:To obtain a heat fixing roller which has the lessened possibility of the deterioration of a rubber layer by coating a fluoroplastic dispersion on the rubber layer and predrying the coating, then bringing the coated surface into pressurized contact, under heating, with a metallic heating body which is heated to the temp. above the m.p. of the fluoroplastic and has oxidation resistance and specific surface roughness. CONSTITUTION:This heat fixing roller is produced by coating the fluoroplastic dispersion onto the rubber layer and predrying the coating, then bringing the coated surface into pressurized contact, under heating, with the metallic heating body which is heated to the temp. above the m.p. of the fluoroplastic and has the oxidation resistance and 3-4mum surface roughness (R2). The generation of foreign matter such as rust on the surface of heating body is obviated by using the material having the high oxidation resistance even at an elevated temp.; therefore, the smooth fluoroplastic film is obtd. The release property between the heating body and the fluoroplastic film is improved by forming the surface of the heating body to about the surface roughness to prevent the completely tight adhesion to the fluoroplastic film. |
