<p>A hot blast stove for a blast furnace has an axial gas burner. It is placed within the body of the stove, but sepd. from the interior by a lining, pref. in the form of an arch, co-axial with the combustion chamber. The burner comprises gas and air distribution chambers, with adjustable vertical mixers. It is connected to the combustion chamber by an isolating slide valve. It may be fixed to the base of the stove, or mounted on rails to permit withdrawal from the base of the combustion chamber. Arrangement gives good mixing of the gas and air, and so good combustion. It avoids pulsatory combustion, common with horizontal burners working hard and is easy to service.</p> |
