PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feed mechanism capable of suppressing any abnormal noise during the paper feed and executing the stable paper feed, and an image forming device with the paper feed mechanism being built therein. SOLUTION: The paper feed mechanism includes a paper feed roller for conveying sheets, and a pad structure arranged to hold the sheets in cooperation with the paper feed roller. The pad structure includes a pad for producing the friction force on the sheets, a vibration damping unit for damping the vibration of the pad, a supporting unit which is arranged between the pad and the vibration damping unit to support the pad, and a pressurization mechanism for applying the force toward the paper feed roller to the vibration damping unit.
