A vessel manoeuvring or propelling unit comprises a duct with inlet 16 for water from outside the vessel, a pump 14 on driving shaft 18 and an adjustable discharge nozzle 15 on shaft 31 for determining the direction of discharge of the water. The shafts 18, 31 are offset from one another and pass one another in the duct. In the embodiment shown inlet 16 is partly in one side and partly in the bottom 11 of the vessel and discharge nozzle 15 turns about shaft 31 in an inclined rear portion 12 of the bottom.</p> |
