The turbocharger (4) is of at least double-flow construction. At least two exhaust gas flow paths (11a,b) extend separately into the turbocharger. An exhaust gas return section (14a,b) of the exhaust return pipe (14) branches off each exhaust flow path. Each return section preferably contains an exhaust return control valve (17a,b). The return sections combine to form a return collection pipe (14c), preferably downstream of the control valves. An exhaust cooling device (18) is positioned in the return collection pipe. The exhaust return sections extend separately to a nozzle diffusor unit (20), formed by a Venturi nozzle.
