Method and device for the production of composite castings

The invention relates to a method and a device for the production of composite castings, primarily by the stand (stationary, vertical) casting method in lost and/or permanent moulds from two or more different materials with different properties, and finds application in the metallurgical industry. The inventive solution is distinguished by the fact that the mould cavity, which is divided into two or more separate chambers by one or more separating layers or partition walls is filled simultaneously or in succession with different molten materials. As far as the apparatus for carrying out the method is concerned, sheets of ferrous or nonferrous materials, including their alloys, preferably steel sheets with or without surface treatment and/or copper sheet, and also non-metals as separating layers or partition walls are arranged in the mould cavity. The separating layer or partition wall is subjected to a special surface treatment, preferably being coated to protect it and/or to provide a better bond with the cast metals.
