PURPOSE:To improve the castability of an Au-Ni-Cu-Zn alloy without impairing an aesthetic characteristic as the substitution of platinum by adding a specific ratio of Ge and at need specific ratios of Mn, Fe and Co to said alloy. CONSTITUTION:0.05-3wt.% Ge is added to the ornamental Au alloy of K 12 - K 22 (50-83.5wt.%) consisting essentially of Au and compounding 1-25wt.% Cu and 2-10wt.% Zn; otherwise, 0.05-2wt.% Ge and one or more kinds among 0.05-1wt.% Mn, Fe and Co are added therein. The occlusion of gas in a molten metal is reduced and the structure of said alloy after sintering can be fined by the addition of Ge. The characteristics of Ge can be furthermore promoted by the addition of Mn, Fe and Co.
