<p>This touch-panel unit (5) comprises a reception sensor panel (5-1) and a transmission sensor panel (5-2). The reception sensor panel has a plurality of parallel horizontal reception electrodes (5-1a) and two vertical transmission electrodes (5-1b) on the left and right edges, respectively. The transmission sensor panel has a plurality of parallel vertical transmission electrodes (5-2c) from the left edge to the right edge. The same transmission signal is applied to both the transmission electrodes (5-2c) on the transmission sensor panel (5-2) and the transmission electrodes (5-1b) on the reception sensor panel (5-1) so as to detect the approach of a person's hand with high sensitivity, and after the approach of the person's hand has been detected, the sensitivity is reduced by setting the transmission electrodes (5-1b) on the reception sensor panel (5-1) to a ground potential.</p> |
